XRay Windows Process Engineering Technician

. This full‑time position is located in Orem, UT.
Process Engineering Technician to work with the Windows engineering team, comprised of Process Engineers, Design and Development Engineers, and Engineering Technicians to support the development and sustainment of X‑ray windows. The Technician will collaborate with engineering, logistics, and production to integrate new products into manufacturing and support manufacturing and production control while continuously improving existing processes. Responsibilities include troubleshooting customer and in‑line failures and supporting production operators.
EssentialFunctions
- Assist in gathering data related to engineering design, manufacturing, and product support requirements.
- Apply an entry‑level understanding of product design and build processes, and standard principles of Lean Product Development, Theory of Constraints, and Design of Experimentation.
- Gather raw data, process it, and communicate results in meaningful forms such as flow charts, Pareto charts, and control charts to capture current manufacturing yields and drive yield improvements.
- Improve processes and validate them; provide results to the engineering team for evaluation.
- Evaluate current processes and designs, identify potential improvements, and assess return on investment and risk associated with these improvements.
- Use problem‑solving and decision‑making tools to analyze situations and recommend the best course of action.
- Communicate with engineers about non‑conformities and product assembly issues.
- Lead testing and root‑cause determination of in‑line failures and RMAs.
- Monitor adherence of production to policies and procedures.
- Daily work assignments may also include assembling, reworking, and/or testing window components following prescribed processes and assembly procedures, using hand tools and equipment, standing work as required, moving material, and working from drawings, schematics, and written instructions.
- A.S. in engineering technology or a related science discipline (equivalent work‑related experience acceptable).
- 1+ years of experience in thin film manufacturing.
- Experience with CVD is a plus.
- Six Sigma and/or lean manufacturing training preferred.
- Adaptability – Anticipate and adapt to changes in work‑group tasks and departmental logic, seeking information and treating changes as learning opportunities.
- Engineering Processes – Entry‑level knowledge of the responsibilities and tasks performed by various engineering disciplines such as design, test, software, and technology.
- Motivation – Self‑starter who can work with minimal supervision while proactively coordinating with others to resolve conflicts and meet project timelines.
- Communication – Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Team Player – Recognizes the importance of the team and drives communication and coordination within the group.
- Manual Dexterity – Handles precise, small, fragile components under a microscope using tweezers and probes.
