Operations Lead – Responsibilities- Provide on‑site leadership and technical guidance for commissioning, start‑up, and ongoing operation of Chart’s process technologies at customer locations.
- Lead and mentor on‑site operations teams, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, operational procedures, and performance targets.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for operational matters at project sites, fostering strong communication and collaboration with customers and internal teams.
- Troubleshoot operational issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventative actions.
- Implement and help develop best practices for on‑site operations, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintenance schedules, and performance monitoring systems.
- Conduct performance analysis of operations operating systems, identify areas for improvement, and drive initiatives to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to ensure smooth project execution and successful handover to operations.
- Participate in the development and review of operational documentation, including start‑up manuals and operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations at project sites.
- Extensive Travel:
Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time to various customer sites for on‑site operational support and leadership.
The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Lifting 50 pounds may be required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Duties include lengthy visual requirements on computer monitors. Frequent travel will involve time spent in transit and at customer sites, which may have varying environmental conditions.
- A technical or engineering degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field (e.g., operations management, industrial technology, applied science).
- Proven experience in leading and managing operational teams in industrial or technical environments.
- Strong understanding of process operations, preferably within the energy, industrial gas, or related sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex operational issues and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse teams and customers.
- Sound organizational skills for managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Experience with the development and implementation of standard operating procedures and best practices.
- Experience with cryogenic process technologies, natural gas processing, or similar complex industrial systems, preferred.
- Familiarity with process control systems and instrumentation is a plus.
- Experience in commissioning and start‑up of industrial facilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in industrial environments.
