The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets all customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow associates with respect, follows all company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation.
Essential Functions- Understand that safety is the number one priority and practice safe behaviors in everything they do.
- Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment for everyone, keeping the area clutter‑free and the egress clear.
- Treat all customers and associates with respect and courtesy; be friendly and professional at all times.
- Assist customers – include register training, product assistance, and answering questions politely and knowledgeably.
- Provide prompt and efficient responses to customers at all times and handle all customer issues courteously.
- Represent and support the company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies and disinfecting high‑touch areas to maintain merchandise, customers and team areas.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the company’s dress code.
- Perform daily assigned sizing and recovery to maintain a neat, clean, and efficient store.
- Expedite newly received merchandise receipts with urgency, merchandizing items per company best practice and maintaining brand familiarity.
- Understand Loss Prevention Awareness, Shortage Highway, and merchandise protection standards.
- Safeguard confidential information, cash and credit card information, and merchandise.
- Follow all Mark‑Out‑of‑Stock (MOS) policies and properly process each piece, notifying store leadership.
- Follow all policies and procedures concerning cash, check, charge card, refunds, voids and offline procedures.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency, maximize productivity, and minimize steps and touches in workflow.

- Effectively communicate with customers, associates and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative and pleasant manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
- Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PC as required.
- Stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
- Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
- Certain assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
- Associates who work stockroom shifts:
Push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds regularly.
