Overview
Senior Accountant – Path to Accounting Manager
Location: Orlando, FL
Compensation: $80,000 – $95,000 per year
Our client is a prominent player in the specialty construction space, delivering high-quality commercial projects throughout the region. They recently moved into a modern, newly built headquarters in Orlando and pride themselves on their supportive, family-oriented culture. This is an exciting chance for an experienced Senior Accountant who is eager to make an impact and grow into a future Accounting Manager role.
You’ll work closely with the Controller and be a key contributor to accurate, timely financial reporting as the company continues its expansion.
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and detailed account analyses
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statement preparation
- Support job costing and provide insight on project-related financial performance
- Investigate variances and ensure accruals are accurate
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal controls
- Partner with operations teams to align financial results with project activity
- Participate in external audits and regulatory filings
- Contribute to ERP initiatives and process improvement efforts to streamline accounting functions
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or progress toward CPA a plus)
- 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close
- Background in construction or project-based accounting highly preferred
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAGE Intacct, Viewpoint, or similar) and advanced Excel skills
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and highly organized with strong communication abilities
