JOB DUTIES
  • Be the backbone of the Classification Department by preparing correspondence, memorandums, typing essential forms and documents.
  • Play a crucial role in the Inmate Records area by maintaining inmate files, conducting audits on new inmates, and preparing necessary forms.
  • Showcase organizational skills by inputting data into the CDC database, retrieving and printing information, and maintaining classification documentation.
  • Keep the department running smoothly by receiving, dating, stamping, sorting and distributing mail, as well as handling, copying, scanning, and faxing of documents.
  • Provide top-notch customer service by answering phone calls professionally, assisting inmate families, and taking on special projects and other clerical duties as assigned.

Background Screening Requirement:
The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
