Senior Civil Construction Inspector

Join HDR as a Senior Civil Construction Inspector and play a pivotal role in safeguarding the quality, safety, and trust of our civil infrastructure projects. By ensuring that designs are built to the highest standards, you’ll help transform visions into reality across highways, bridges, water treatment plants, transit systems, and power facilities.

• Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, and pipelines.
• Mentor and supervise junior field staff as needed.
• Collaborate with other field representatives and project managers to resolve issues.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts.
• Serve as the most senior inspector on projects when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Technical school or associate degree.
• Experience with FDOT or Florida Turnpike highly desired.
• Road or bridge construction inspection experience.
• Relevant industry certifications.
• Ability to interpret construction schedules.

• High school diploma or equivalent (8 years of relevant construction inspection experience may substitute for a diploma).
• Minimum of 5 years of inspection experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
• Understanding of HDR’s Drug and Alcohol Policy and readiness to comply with drug‑screening requirements.
