Job Description

Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated construction project manager. You will work with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and superintendents to make a plan for the entire project to produce a quality product. Key Responsibilities Pre‑Award Management
  • Review all bids, scope out subcontractors, and negotiate final contract pricing with subcontractors.
  • Conduct pre‑award meetings with subcontractors as needed.
  • Draft subcontractor scopes of work for inclusion in subcontracts, coordinating with the Project Administrator to issue subcontracts.
Planning and Coordination
  • Develop a master project schedule for attachment to subcontracts.
  • Prepare budget setup and owner Schedule of Values for input into Timberline.
  • Participate in job start‑up meetings with the SCI team to define roles.
Pre‑Construction and Meeting Coordination
  • Coordinate and lead pre‑construction meetings with the design team and owners to establish points of contact, RFI and Submittal processes, and timing of OAC Meetings.
  • Organize and lead all OAC project meetings.
  • Attend weekly subcontractor coordination meetings led by the Superintendent as necessary.
  • Attend and participate in weekly project management meetings and specific project meetings as needed.
Scheduling and Quality Control
  • Work with the Superintendent to implement and maintain the master project schedule, ensuring it’s posted on‑site with milestone dates.
  • Review 2‑week look‑ahead schedules with superintendents and track them against the overall project schedule.
  • Review and approve contractor and vendor pay requisitions.
  • Assist with preconstruction services as needed.
Construction Oversight
  • Oversee and direct all construction management activities.
  • Ensure projects are completed within the budget and timeframe while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and design professionals to anticipate and resolve issues that may impact project schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Understand his/her contribution to achieving the five‑year strategic plan and the annual plan.
  • Understand and operate under the company’s SOPs at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field or several years of experience in project management within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software for budgeting, scheduling, and risk assessment.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and permit procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills to lead and motivate project teams and subcontractors.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for collaboration with clients, project teams, and subcontractors.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities to address challenges during construction projects.
  • Competence in managing project budgets, analyzing financial data, and ensuring projects stay within budget.
  • Efficient time‑management skills to meet project deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Commitment to safety and knowledge of construction safety regulations and practices.
