Fox TV Stations and FOX Television Stations own and operate 29 full‑power broadcast television stations in the U.S., covering 14 of the top 15 largest DMA markets, including duopolies in 11 DMAs (New York, Los Angeles, Chicago among the three largest). Eighteen stations are affiliated with the FOX Network. Together, these stations produce roughly 1,200 hours of local news each week and distribute sports, entertainment, and syndicated content, leveraging viewer, distributor, and advertiser demand for FOX Network national content.
Job DescriptionEssential Duties & Responsibilities
- Craft and understand all aspects of the newscast rundown
- Oversee the preparation of a rundown and scripts for newscasts
- Identify opportunities for big story coverage, team coverage, and overall brand management oversight in the newscast
- React swiftly and appropriately to breaking news on all platforms
- Communicate effectively with news staff
- Execute and manage live‑streaming and digital strategies to distribute content and promote viewership on all platforms
- Copy‑edit stories in the newscast and ensure they are editorially and journalistically sound
- Hold producers accountable on story selection
- Ensure anchors and meteorologists stay on point with delivery
- Monitor execution in the control room
- Set coverage expectations with news staff and hold meetings to conduct newscast critiques
- Assist in establishing schedules, goal setting, and employee relations; other duties as assigned
Minimum of three years’ experience working in a TV newsroom as a major‑market producer or smaller‑market news manager. Must be flexible, handle pressure, and meet deadlines. Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field. Minimum 3 years’ experience managing a team of direct reports. Exceptional news and editorial judgment, flawless writing and copy‑editing skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, high professionalism, and strong attention to detail.

Self‑motivated, works effectively independently and in a team. Availability for flexible hours—including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements of Position
Regularly stand; walk, sit, reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Vision includes close, distance, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location, is $90,000.00–$98,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for union‑represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
