Architectural Staff I

Huitt-Zollars, Inc. – Orlando, Florida

Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from an NCARB accredited program

Location: Orlando, Florida

Provisional role supporting Architects, Project Managers and Designers in preparing design and construction drawings, and assisting with construction administration for projects. Requires proven teamwork abilities and a minimum of 2-3 years of architectural experience producing detailed and well documented construction documents in Revit. Must be design focused, have a strong school portfolio, and wish to pursue a design career path.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Simultaneously work on a minimum of 2-3 projects at various stages of development.
  • Prepare project designs and construction documents using BIM software.
  • Support mid-level and senior design architects; collaborate in sketching and team design.
  • Prepare meeting minutes, project specifications, agency applications, and other documentation.
  • Visit project sites under the direction of a supervisor and assist with documentation of findings.
  • Research materials, assemblies, and building codes for incorporation into design and construction drawings.
  • Integrate consultant and supplier information into Revit models.
  • Assist in processing contractor submittals and RFIs, logging documents and routing them for review.
  • Record and distribute meeting minutes and assist with general project correspondence as needed.
  • Assist or prepare graphic materials for presentation or documents.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from an NCARB accredited program.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in commercial and institutional projects.
  • Actively engaged in AXP and pursuing licensure.
  • Ability to read redlines and modify Revit models and documents accurately.
  • Proficient in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong problem solving, analysis, and capacity to research and apply building codes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management and task orientation.
  • Collaborative teamwork abilities.

Physical Requirements
