Position: Neonatologist for Level 4 NICU AdventHealth for Children - Orlando, Florida

Overview

We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, and hardworking neonatologist to join our group at the Walt Disney Pavilion at Advent Health for Children located in downtown Orlando. Come and join an exciting team of nearly 20 Neonatologists, 4 Neonatal Hospitalists and over 20 neonatal nurse practitioners. We recently expanded our NICU into a newly built, beautiful, state‑of‑the‑art facility in 2017.

We currently have 102 neonatal beds at Advent Health for Children. We also have five other Level II NICU’s in hospitals around the Central Florida area, which are staffed by our own Neonatologists, who are part of the same medical group.

Our regional network includes an OB delivery volume of approximately 15,000 births per year. Over the last couple of years, we have expanded our Maternal Fetal Medicine program and Congenital Heart surgery program and have built a pediatric and neonatal ECMO program. We have a dedicated Neonatal transport team and are supported by experienced Pediatric Subspecialists. We are very active in Quality Improvement programs and clinical research, with several multi‑center extramurally funded research projects.

We also have a very active Neonatal simulation program.

We have an independent General Pediatric Residency program. Our residents rotate through the NICU. We take an active participation in their training and education. We have received ACGME accreditation to start our Neonatology Fellowship Program in 2026.

Advent Health for Children has been recognized by the US News and World Report for the last 8 years. In 2024, Advent Health for Children was nationally recognized as the best Children’s Hospital for newborn care in Florida and #32 for Neonatology in the Best Children’s Hospital rankings. We are also recognized by The Leapfrog Group as a top Children’s Hospital for quality and safety, and we are a magnet designated hospital for nursing care.

Requirements

The new physician joining the group should be board certified in pediatrics and board certified or board eligible in Neonatal‑Perinatal Medicine. Experience post fellowship is preferred but not essential.

Interest and demonstrated experience in clinical research, teaching, quality improvement projects and ECMO will be desirable attributes.

Practice Description

This is an employment opportunity through Advent Health, formerly Florida Hospital, Medical Group, a 800+ physician, multi‑specialty organization. This model offers a highly competitive salary and benefits package that includes occurrence‑based malpractice coverage, health insurance for the physician and his/her family, relocation expenses, a generous 403b retirement plan, and a CME allowance.

Our Walt Disney Pavilion at Advent Health for Children is a full‑service, tertiary children’s hospital with over 200 dedicated pediatric beds, more than 30 pediatric ICU beds with a dedicated pediatric CICU, a 102‑bed NICU, 17‑bed pediatric emergency department and statewide pediatric network and transport system. We started our comprehensive pediatric open heart program in 2012 and have a strong track record of positive outcomes.

We also have several key destination programs including our level IV epilepsy program, the region’s only BMT and solid organ transplants including kidney and liver, and we increased Orlando area NICU beds to 150 total in 2017. Our unparalleled network consists of 30 hospitals across the state with one children’s hospital at the center totals over 15,000 births and several extremely successful pediatric subspecialty programs including outreach clinics.
