SPEKTRUM Health is seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable physician (MD/DO) to serve as a part-time consulting physician for our adult transgender and gender-diverse patient population. This role is essential for ensuring our clinic's practices are in full compliance with Florida Senate Bill 254 (2023) and all related Florida Board of Medicine rules regarding gender-affirming care. The ideal candidate will provide expert medical oversight, conduct in-person patient consultations, and prescribe hormone regimens in a safe, healthy, and affirming manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as one of the clinic's designated physicians to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations concerning gender-affirming care, with a specific focus on the requirements of Florida SB 254.
  • Conduct in-person, informed consent consultations for adult patients initiating or continuing gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT).
  • Prescribe hormone regimens, including testosterone, estrogen, and other related medications, in accordance with current medical standards and Florida law.
  • Review and sign all required state-mandated consent forms for gender-affirming care.
  • Collaborate with the clinic's existing healthcare team to ensure a cohesive and high-quality standard of care for all patients.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current and unrestricted Florida medical license.
  • Board certification in a relevant specialty (e.g., Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Endocrinology) is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience or an interest in providing gender-affirming care to adult patients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with a diverse patient population.
  • Commitment to providing culturally competent, trauma-informed, and patient-centered care.

Schedule:

  • Two days per month. Days are very flexible and can be determined upon hire.
  • Potential for additional hours as needed/as desired.
