Cardiovascular ICU Medical Director

Advent Health Orlando is seeking a dynamic and energetic physician with leadership experience to join and lead their Cardiovascular ICU Team. As the CVICU Medical Director, you will join AHMG Critical Care Specialists of Central Florida to manage complex cardiac and thoracic surgery patients while leading clinical quality and programmatic growth. This is an incredible opportunity to help build and cultivate one of the busiest CVICU programs in the Southeastern United States.

• AHMG Critical Care Specialists of Central Florida, a 100 plus employed provider intensive care team
• Reaches over 15 other Advent Health campuses throughout Central, North and West Florida
• Provides tele-medicine services across multiple states
• Encounters over 20,000 critically-ill patients a year

Responsibilities

• Manage CABG, Valvular repair or replacement, Aortic dissections and Thoracic surgery patients with dedicated administrative time and clinical involvement
• Collaborate with experienced and established intensivists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and cardiologists to help continue to grow and establish a high quality and highly sustainable Cardiovascular Critical Care program
• Lead the clinical quality for CVICU care, including quality metrics and quality assurance teams
• Actively participate in regional, national meetings and conferences
• Educate APP'S, medical critical care fellows and new staff
• Build a core team of physicians working to improve the breadth and intensity of the Cardiovascular ICU
• Set performance criteria for the CVICU
• Hire and retain qualified physicians & APPs
• Help to advance Advent Health Orlando into a world class advanced cardiovascular critical care service

Qualifications

• Board Certification in Critical Care (ABIM) or Surgical Critical Care (ABS) required
• 3-5 years of experience as a CVICU physician leader
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with both private practice and employed models
