Primer Leader role at Primer
This application is for future openings at one of our 15 campuses across Alabama, Arizona, and Florida.
About Primer:
Fixing our K-12 education system is a civilizationally-important problem. We believe that all of our problems — including the ones that dominate the headlines — are downstream of education. Our simple thesis is to empower thousands of educators to launch microschools in their communities. Primer
OS automates and reduces the costs of traditional schools, enabling world-class education that is accessible to normal American families and scalable.
We believe the historical tradeoff between price and quality is a false dichotomy. Primer’s approach focuses on learning how to solve real problems, not just pass tests, and on valuing what kids learn both outside and inside the classroom.
About The Role
Responsibilities- Communicating with families. As the face of your microschool, warmly welcome families, share regular progress updates, and create new opportunities for family engagement.
- Classroom culture. Build strong relationships with each student, establish routines and expectations, and foster independent learning.
- Overseeing each child’s academic pathway. In core subjects, oversee personalized schedules and progress; notice when kids are stuck and curate engaging experiences tailored to their needs and passions.

- Growing the school. Leverage your experience and communication skills to attract new students and support families through enrollment.

- You love kids and families and help students explore their passions and curiosities.
- You have an entrepreneurial spark, are an organized self-starter, and are driven to build a space for kids to learn and grow.
- You communicate effectively with families; when students move up a grade, parents often ask if you can continue with them.
- You are excited about a startup environment and comfortable giving and receiving feedback; change and iteration excite you.
- Your students feel safe to make mistakes and celebrate wins and challenges.
- You have 3+ years of experience as a lead teacher, homeschooling parent, or child care provider for K-8 kids. No teaching certification required.
