Position Overview

South College is seeking applications for the position of Adjunct Faculty Member/Tutor for Mathematics at the Orlando Campus. Under the direction of the Department Chair/Dean of General Education, the Adjunct Mathematics Instructor will teach General Education Math courses including College Algebra, Statistics, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus on a quarter-by-quarter basis. Responsibilities include evaluating student progress, collaborating with Faculty Leads on subject matter questions, and returning graded assignments promptly according to South College standards.

Tutors are expected to work on campus for 4.5 hours per week during a 10-week quarter, as determined by the Dean of Academic and Student Services/Dean of General Education.

Requirements
  • A minimum of a master's degree in Mathematics (doctorate preferred) or an earned master's or doctoral degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics.
  • Experience teaching mathematics at the higher education level. (Experience in both ground and online instruction is preferred).
