Job DescriptionOther duties as assigned. Designs, develops, and delivers high‑quality instruction and course materials including syllabi, assessments, and clinical assignments. Assesses student performance through timely grading, feedback, office hours, clinical, and formal evaluation. Provides academic support to students through regular communication, individualized assistance, and targeted intervention strategies, including referrals to appropriate support services. Advises students on academic progression, course planning, and career pathways, while providing mentorship in research, clinical practice, or field‑based learning as applicable.
Participates in curriculum development and review, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards, and supports assessment planning. Develops and evaluates clinical curriculum, assigns students to appropriate clinical sites and labs, provides orientation, and supervises the application of theory to practice in the clinical setting. Contributes to program accreditation efforts and institutional effectiveness activities. Engages in teaching, service, and scholarly activities, including research, publications, presentations, or other professional contributions within the discipline.
Maintains active membership in professional organizations and engages in ongoing professional development. Participates with the team to plan theory and clinical content of courses. Participates in institutional committees and initiatives and represents the university at professional, community, and recruitment events as needed. Assists with revisions of department policies and procedures. Identifies and recommends community agency linkages for student learning experiences.
Identifies and documents student performance or conduct concerns, implements appropriate remediation plans, and follows institutional policies for disciplinary action or dismissal when warranted. Evaluates learning resources such as reference material, audio/visual aids, computer‑assisted learning programs, and library acquisitions.
Essential requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (required);
Master’s or Doctorate preferred - Basic Life Support – CPR Certificate (BLS)
- RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement
