Middle School MathTeacher

Overview

Saint David Catholic School (Broward County) is looking for a Middle School Math Teacher to join the Middle School Math Department for the  school year. This person will be responsible for supervision, instruction, lesson planning, assessing and maintaining data analysis skills of the students. This position is also responsible for collaborating with teachers in promoting interdisciplinary STEM activities into the core curriculum.

This teacher performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.

• Supervise, instruct, plan lessons, assess, and maintain data analysis skills of students.
• Collaborate with teachers to promote interdisciplinary STEM activities into the core curriculum.
• Perform all duties in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education
• Valid Florida Department of Education Teaching certification appropriate to the teaching assignment
• Demonstrate competence in teaching with current, thorough knowledge of curriculum and subject matter; communicate effectively with students; organize classroom learning and materials to maximize student time on tasks and motivate learning
• Use effective evaluation methods related to curriculum objectives and concepts/skills; consistently and effectively evaluate student progress
• Establish a consistent disciplinary approach promoting self-direction and positive self-image; set high standards for behavior and manage inappropriate behavior effectively
• Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience
• Experience with educational computer software including digital grade books and smart boards
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and Google Workspace
• Effective oral and written English communication skills
• Must be of good moral character and supportive of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in a Roman Catholic environment preferred
• Knowledge of basic tenets of the Catholic Church
• Professional demeanor
