The School of Humanities and Social Sciences is part of Valencia College’s general education program and offers degree pathways in disciplines such as history and art history. Our school provides courses that are integral to a liberal arts education and the Associate of Arts degree.
The Humanities discipline within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences gives students the opportunity to develop critical thinking skills through the study of subjects related to human culture, including literature, history, art history, music, and philosophy. Coursework emphasis open class discussions, critical reading and writing assignments, and independent thinking.

- A Master’s degree with a major in political science, government, or international relations OR 18 graduate semester hours in political science, government or international relations and a master's degree from a regionally accredited institution by the official start date (January 2027).
