Wind Technician Renewables - Heavy Lift Division - Travel
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is searching for advanced turbine technicians who are willing and capable of leading and/or being part of our Heavy Lifts and Large Corrective teams. The Wind Service Travel Technician position requires 100% travel, so qualified candidates must live within 50 miles of a major airport. This role requires both day and night shift availability. Wind Technicians perform technical tasks, provide excellent customer service remotely and onsite, and support sales lead generation and planning activities.

- Performs mainly pre‑defined technical tasks (e.g., basic commissioning of products and systems, integration of components, basic engineering, maintenance jobs) on‑site and remotely.
- Coordinates and accomplishes defined service operations and/or resolves product issues for customer equipment.
- Adheres to defined processes and applicable regulations.
- Works in stressful and dangerous situations, and contributes to developing new field procedures and standard methodologies.
- Analyses and resolves problems independently and efficiently.
- Actively works on wind turbine projects and identifies and reports all incidents or near misses.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years wind experience with major component exchange, turbine erection, or decommissioning experience preferred.
- Basic computer and iPad use skills, strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Physically and mentally able to work suspended from heights and in confined spaces.
- Must meet body weight restriction of 265 lbs. or less as required by equipment safety regulations; must pass a physical administered by a medical examiner.
- Clean driving record and pass pre‑hire drug screening; ability to apply for and obtain a Company American Express card.
- Valid driver’s license at time of application and maintain acceptable driving record; may be subject to periodic DMV checks.

Role may be based in various locations across the United States. Base salary range varies by location; for U.S. positions $58,300 to $63,000 annually. Compensation determined by experience, skills, certifications, and business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range.
