MLB & Associates, hiring for our client, a full-service utility construction company specializing in turnkey power substation construction. Seeking experienced substation testing professionals for immediate full-time, permanent hire. Per diem and full benefits, 401K, PTO, sick time and holidays, year-round job stability.
High Voltage Apparatus Testing Qualifications- Applicant must possess a core value of safety and human performance guidelines and applications.
- Thorough understanding of basic electricity and Ohm’s Law.
- Thorough understanding of Electrical schematic and high voltage apparatus name plate interpretation.
- Working knowledge of various electrical meters to include measuring of voltage, current, capacitance, inductance and resistance.
- Working knowledge of High voltage circuit breaker, transformer, switch, and capacitor / inductor bank applications.
- Understand and interpret various electric utility standards and work methods.
- High voltage circuit breaker testing to include the following: CT testing, ductor testing, Hi-pot testing, SF6 gas testing, vacuum bottle testing, breaker mechanism checks, breaker alarm points testing and breaker timing tests.
- HV switch gear ductor testing (contact resistance testingli>
- Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical trouble shooting skills.
- Computer literacy and record keeping skills are a must.
- Applicant must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a drug and background check. Applicants must be able to pass background checks for NERC CIP compliance.
- High voltage apparatus power factor testing skills are a plus with regard to high voltage breakers and power transformers testing with this position.
Prefer experience with Doble testing software.
Must have good driving record and be willing to take and pass drug testing.
Compensation: $32.00 to $48.00 an hour (based off the candidate’s verifiable work experience)

Mon – Thurs. 10 hrs. a day, overtime as needed
