Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is searching for advanced turbine technicians that are willing and capable of leading and / or being part of our Heavy Lifts and Large Corrective teams. Performs mainly pre‑defined, technical tasks (for example, basic commissioning of products and systems, integration of components to a system, basic engineering, maintenance jobs) and work packages on‑site and remotely. The Wind Service Travel Technician position requires 100% travel so qualified candidates must live within 50 miles of a major airport and work a flexible work schedule.
HowYou’ll Make an Impact
- Supports customer remotely and onsite and provides 2nd and 3rd level user support in case of arising issues.
- Coordinates and accomplishes defined service operations and/or resolves product issues for customers equipment while providing excellent customer service.
- Supports in generating sales leads for pre‑defined service offers and contributes to planning activities.
- Adheres to defined processes and applicable regulations and analyzes and resolves problems independently and efficiently.
- Works in stressful, dangerous situations, and participates in the development of new field procedures and best practices.
- Actively works on wind turbine projects and identifies and reports all incidents or near misses.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience and minimum of 2 years wind experience and physically and mentally able to work suspended from heights and in confined spaces.
- Must have major component exchange experience or similar such as turbine erection and decommission. Siemens, G.E., Vestas, Gamesa, Senvion major component exchange experience nice to have.
- Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 lbs. or less as required by the equipment safety regulations. Must pass a physical administered by a medical examiner to ensure ability to safely perform the job functions and meet the physical demands of the position.
- Driving is an essential function of the job and applicants must have a valid driver’s license at the time of application with an acceptable driving record. Employees must maintain a valid license and acceptable driving record and may be subject to periodic DMV checks of their license and pass pre‑hire drug screening. Ability to apply and obtain a Company American Express card.
- Crane
Experience:
LIFTRA Crane LT1200 or LT1000 Operator Certification and valid GWO Certifications, Rigger Signalmen (NCCCO) Certification and QEHS Experience nice to have.

This role may be based in various locations across the United States. Siemens Gamesa offers a variety of health and wellness benefits, including paid time off and holiday pay. Details regarding our benefits can be found here: The base salary range for this position varies by location. For positions based in the United States, the base salary range is $55,000 to $63,000 annually.
Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
