Responsibilities
  • Lead site civil engineering design (site layout, erosion control, storm, grading & drainage, utilities) and production efforts for site civil engineering projects related to buildings, facilities, and infrastructure projects across diverse market sectors.
  • Serve as the Civil Engineer of Record.
  • Lead permitting (federal, state, and local) efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary design teams throughout all project phases—from initial planning through construction documentation and administration.
  • Prepare detailed construction drawings, technical specifications, engineering calculations and reports.
  • Manage permitting processes with federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Provide support during the construction phase, such as responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals.
  • Lead and train a team of CADD designers, EIT’s, Site Civil Engineers.
  • Serve as a Project Manager on larger projects, although project management is not the sole focus of this position.
  • Perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Plan and develop projects or design activities that have significant impact on major company programs as needed.
  • Assist in developing scope and fee proposals.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an ABET‑accredited university.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in site civil/land development design for buildings or infrastructure, including demolition, erosion control, site layout, stormwater management, grading and drainage, utility design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, ICPR/Stormwise, Water

    CAD, and Storm

    CAD.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within fast‑paced, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to exercise sound engineering judgment with minimal supervision.
  • Experience serving as the Design lead for a team of civil engineering professionals on complex land development projects.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritize.
  • Highly organized, self‑motivated, and proactive, with strong leadership skills and a commitment to delivering high‑quality, technically sound designs with minimal supervision.
  • Proven experience serving as Engineer of Record on previous projects.
  • Proposal writing experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Prior experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
  • Preference given to local candidates.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of 10 years design experience managing various civil/site design projects.
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (PE or P.Eng).
  • Project Engineering and Project Management experience.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must.
