Alternative Delivery Roadway Engineer - (PE)

We are seeking a Transportation‑focused mid‑level Project Engineer with experience in Design‑Build/Alternative Delivery pursuits.

This role, based in Tampa, Orlando, Boca Raton or Jacksonville, FL, may be performed in office or on a hybrid schedule. The position is eligible for a sign‑on bonus.

Description

As an Alternative Delivery Project Engineer, you will become part of a dedicated team that provides technical and production support in the development of Alternative Technical Concepts (ATCs), geometric design, and plans production for major Alternative Delivery (Design‑Build) projects.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering designs, including geometric alignments, profiles, cross‑sections, construction, and Temporary Traffic Control details.
  • Create engineering documents such as Typical Section Packages, Pavement Design Reports, and Variation/Exception Reports.
  • Perform advanced Micro Station/GEOPAK/Open Roads processes using 3D modeling.
  • Coordinate plans, calculations, and specifications among multi‑discipline engineering teams.
Requirements
  • B.S. from an ABET‑accredited university in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of transportation roadway design experience.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in Florida or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.
  • Proficiency in Micro Station and/or Open Roads.
  • Strong knowledge of FDOT plans preparation criteria, FDM and Standard Plans.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency and self‑initiative to meet client deadlines.
  • Detail‑oriented team player with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Valid driver’s license with approved or acceptable driving history.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on limited‑access projects.
  • Experience working on alternative delivery/design‑build projects.
  • Experience with 3D corridor modeling.
