Mechanical Engineer (Simulation & Training Systems) Overview
We are seeking a mid-level Mechanical Engineer to support the completion and production of physical training and simulation systems used in technical and industrial environments. This role is execution-focused and ideal for an engineer who enjoys taking partially complete designs and driving them to manufacturing-ready delivery
. The engineer will support the finalization of mechanical designs, produce detailed drawing packages, and assist with build and production readiness for standalone training systems.
This is not an R&D role — success is measured by speed, accuracy, and clean execution

- Complete and finalize mechanical drawing packages
- Develop detailed layouts, assemblies, and fabrication drawings in Autodesk Inventor
- Prepare designs for manufacturing and production
- Support prototype builds and initial production (“bending metal”)
- Collaborate closely with Electrical Engineers on:
- Cable routing
- Wire management and strain relief
- Mounting of terminal blocks and test points
- Participate in design reviews, testing, and integration activities
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues in lab and build environments
- Maintain documentation and configuration control using Autodesk Vault
- Track tasks and progress using Jira in a delivery-focused workflow
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 5–10 years of mechanical engineering experience
- Strong experience producing complete, build-ready drawing packages
- Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor (required)
- Experience with Autodesk Vault or similar PDM/PLM tools
- Comfort working hands-on with hardware, assemblies, and builds
- Ability to collaborate effectively across mechanical and electrical disciplines
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in an office-based environment
- Experience supporting training systems, simulators, or industrial hardware
- Familiarity with aviation or electrical systems (wiring, harnesses, terminal blocks)
- Exposure to Costpoint or MRP/logistics workflows
- Experience supporting systems through CDR and into production
