Mechanical Engineer (Simulation & Training Systems) Overview

We are seeking a mid-level Mechanical Engineer to support the completion and production of physical training and simulation systems used in technical and industrial environments. This role is execution-focused and ideal for an engineer who enjoys taking partially complete designs and driving them to manufacturing-ready delivery
. The engineer will support the finalization of mechanical designs, produce detailed drawing packages, and assist with build and production readiness for standalone training systems.

This is not an R&D role — success is measured by speed, accuracy, and clean execution
.

• Complete and finalize mechanical drawing packages
• Develop detailed layouts, assemblies, and fabrication drawings in Autodesk Inventor
• Prepare designs for manufacturing and production
• Support prototype builds and initial production (“bending metal”)
• Collaborate closely with Electrical Engineers on:
  • Cable routing
  • Wire management and strain relief
  • Mounting of terminal blocks and test points
• Participate in design reviews, testing, and integration activities
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues in lab and build environments
• Maintain documentation and configuration control using Autodesk Vault
• Track tasks and progress using Jira in a delivery-focused workflow

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 5–10 years of mechanical engineering experience
• Strong experience producing complete, build-ready drawing packages
• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor (required)
• Experience with Autodesk Vault or similar PDM/PLM tools
• Comfort working hands-on with hardware, assemblies, and builds
• Ability to collaborate effectively across mechanical and electrical disciplines
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work in an office-based environment

• Experience supporting training systems, simulators, or industrial hardware
• Familiarity with aviation or electrical systems (wiring, harnesses, terminal blocks)
• Exposure to Costpoint or MRP/logistics workflows
• Experience supporting systems through CDR and into production
