Job DescriptionTLS is the corporation's hub for simulation, augmented reality, live‑virtual‑constructive capabilities, advanced training devices, and full‑service training programs. TLS also provides sustainment services such as supply chain and logistics IT solutions, spares and repairs, as well as automated test and support equipment.
The WorkAs a key member of our Mechanical Engineering team, you will:
- Perform mechanical engineering development and design functions in support of Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
- Develop overall mechanical designs, including model‑based design, parts selection, and supporting drawing documentation.
- Perform environmental analyses (tip, thermal, shock/vibration).
- Apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems.
- Support the production environment by researching obsolescence COTS and customer hardware to meet requirements.
- Design, assess, and troubleshoot Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
- Present designs for cross‑functional peer reviews.
- Apply site policy and procedures.
This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret‑level U.S. government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is a requirement for consideration.

Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an engineering‑related discipline.
- Demonstrated understanding of structures, mechanisms, and materials.
- Knowledge of Mechanical Design Principles, including GD&T.
- Experience with mechanical modeling or analysis tools such as CREO or Solid Works.
- Understanding and ability to apply fundamental mechanical engineering principles, theories, and concepts.
- Proficiency in Windchill/EPDM.
- Structural and thermo‑structural knowledge and analysis capability (plus).
- Prior experience with Automated Test Equipment.
- Experience with Engineering Change Control processes.

The selected employee will work part of the schedule remotely and part at a Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during hiring.
Base salary ranges by state (exclude most major metropolitan areas): $85,500 – $150,765. (Other states: range adjusts to location.) Pension and benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. The position is incentive plan eligible.
