A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)

The Supplier Quality & Development Organization is responsible for securing the best performing supply base in quality, reliability, and safety. In this role you will be directly supporting the Gas Services Central Global Customer Operations business by qualifying and developing heat exchanger suppliers globally.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)
  • Supplier

    Qualification:

    Support across-functional team by assessing supplier capabilities, auditing supplier quality management system & processes, etc.
  • Product and Process

    Qualification:

    Lead cross-functional teams to perform Product and Process Qualification (PPQ) on commodity parts according to applicable process descriptions and standards. Leading includes the planning, tracking and reporting of project milestones as well as budget and resource needs. Support the supplier quality assurance measures along with the complete PPQ. Approve supplier process via submitted Manufacturing Quality Control Plan.
  • Commodity Circles:
    Assist commodity strategic buyers in developing procurement strategies and project planning.
  • Product Development Process:
    Represent Supplier Quality in cross-functional design reviews.
  • Typical equipment of suppliers in scope includes fan cooled and plate heat exchangers.
  • Manage various Supplier Quality Management tools and databases. Ensure data quality and transparency.
What You Bring (requirements)
  • You have a bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering, or a similar discipline. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • At least 10 years preferred professional experience in supplier quality management, quality management, or engineering related to Heat Exchangers. Position Class can be adjusted based on the candidate’s experience.
  • You have experience performing supplier evaluation, qualification, product/ process qualification & technical supplier development to provide a global, demand covering, quality assured and cost-effective supply base for responsible suppliers.
  • You have extensive knowledge in welding, coating, material cleaning & preservation, and inspection (NDT Level II & III). CWI / CSWIP 3.1 / IWE certification preferred. NACE (AMPP / FROSIO) certification preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in auditing. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification preferred.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 35% of the time. Must have or be able to obtain a passport.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
