Orlando, FL metropolitan statistical area.
NOVA Engineering and Environmental is seeking a self‑motivated individual with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a team player mindset. The role involves consulting, forensic quality control, field testing, and inspection duties across a variety of building types for both public and private sectors.
Primary Duties- Conduct visual building enclosure system surveys, moisture surveys, pre‑design surveys, and property condition assessments.
- Perform forensic evaluations and investigations on building enclosure and roof components suffering performance issues and suspected of failing.
- Perform field testing of roofing, waterproofing, window and curtain wall systems and other building components on new construction and existing facilities, generally in accordance with ASTM, AAMA, TAS, and ANSI standards.
- Review construction documents including architectural drawings, shop drawings, and submittals relative to the building enclosure.
- Conduct quality assurance site inspections relative to building enclosure and roof components to verify conformance with construction documents, manufacturer and industry standards.
- Prepare technical reports documenting investigative results, testing, and observations performed.
- Travel occasionally for in‑state and out‑of‑state overnight assignments.
Responsible for consulting, forensic/quality control field testing, and inspection duties across commercial, retail, educational, multi‑family, low to high‑rise, and manufacturing structures.
Minimum Qualifications , Experience, and Education- 3+ years of consulting experience with building enclosure systems such as wall claddings, windows, curtain wall systems, roofs, and waterproofing systems.
- Technical knowledge of building construction.
- Adept at reading and understanding plans and specifications.
- Higher education degree in an applicable/related field (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- IIBEC certification such as Registered Roof Observer (RRO), Registered Exterior Wall Observer (REWO), or similar certifications.
- Infrared Thermography training.
- Remedial design experience related to building enclosure/roof (a plus).
- Certification in operation of boom lifts or willingness to become certified.
- Good report writing skills.
