Electrical Engineer – Power
Location:
Orlando, FL
Payrate: $34/hr
Duration: 12 months
Responsibilities- Prepare designs, plans/specifications, and documents for Electric Distribution Projects.
- Complete cost estimates for Electric Distribution Projects.
- Manage Electric Distribution projects from development stage through completion.
- Analyze Electrical Plans for new project developments (Commercial/Residential).
- Review completed projects by comparing actual costs with the estimated costs and verify the accuracy of new infrastructure placed within OUC Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping system.
- Resolve conflicts with multiple parties including OUC customers, contractors, governmental agencies, and internal employees.
- Inspect distribution infrastructure installed by private contractors and OUC contractors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Working knowledge of OUC Construction Standards Manuals, NEC/NESC books, and OUC Engineering Manual.
- Familiarity with permits by local governing agencies, construction crew scheduling, and meter installation processes.
- Proficiency in Civil, AutoCAD, GIS mapping, and related software (e.g., PSERM, CC&B, Arc-Reader).
- Ability to calculate amperage, voltage drop, and fault current for wiring/transformer sizing.
- Strong analytical, arithmetic, and Microsoft Office Suite skills.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and risk of electrical shock, confined spaces, and insects.
- Standing, walking, sitting, bending/stooping, repetitive motions, reaching overhead, climbing stairs, hills, ladders; may lift up to twenty (20) pounds.
- Speaking and hearing, typing, writing, detailed inspection; may drive a company vehicle.
- Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
