Substation P&C Electrical Engineer

Overview

Kimley-Horn’s Orlando, Florida (FL) office is seeking an Experienced Electrical Engineer OR Engineer in Training with 2+ years of Substation Protection & Controls experience to join their Power Delivery team.

• Support P&C design project deliverables, ranging from 4kV up to 500kV (with a particular emphasis on 115kV voltages and above)
• Produce detailed substation P&C design packages, compliant to required client and national technical standards. Core design responsibilities include:
• One-line diagrams
• Three-line diagrams
• Potential and current schematics
• Control and Indication schematics
• Communication Interconnections
• Wiring Diagrams
• Equipment Sizing and Specifications
• I/O mapping
• Construction Documentation / Outage Sequencing
• Procurement and Construction SupporT

• 2+ years of protection & control engineering design experience in the electricity transmission & distribution sector
• ETAP experience is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (advanced degrees are a plus)
• EIT or ability to obtain within 6 months required
• Proficient with Micro Station and/or AutoCAD
• I/O mapping
• Constrution documentation/outage sequencing
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• The ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively
• The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
