Technical Manager – East Florida Bridges & Civil Structures
Location:
Orlando or Miami, FL.
Reporting to the National Practice Director, the Technical Manager will serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) on significant projects and lead a group of 4 to 8 engineers and detailers. The role supports pursuit and marketing efforts throughout Florida with an emphasis on FDOT, FTE, CFX, counties and cities in south and east Florida. Responsibilities include ensuring quality technical services, achieving operating performance targets, managing project production, project acquisition, client relations, and financial management to maintain profitability and client satisfaction.
Your role- Staff Administration:
Work with business unit managers and project managers to determine staffing needs, recommend salary levels, conduct performance reviews, and guide professional development while ensuring compliance with company policies. - Project Production and Management:
Allocate staff to projects based on schedules, budgets, and milestones; enforce quality control standards; review QC plans and QA compliance; resolve cross‑functional issues. - Technical Excellence:
Maintain professional currency through participation in professional and civic organizations; design and implement development tracks for staff. - Marketing and Client Maintenance:
Participate in pursuing new opportunities and maintain current and prospective client contacts. - Contracts and Financial:
Assist in staff new pursuits and contract negotiations; approve purchase requests as authorized. - Other duties as directed by the supervisor.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; post‑graduate degree preferred. Management coursework or MBA is a plus.
- 15+ years of experience post‑B.S., with at least three years in project‑management or supervisory roles.
- Excellent technical, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Ability to represent the firm to clients and public officials.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

Additional InformationExpected compensation range: $117,500–$185,000 annually, depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
