Environmental Engineer, Civil Engineering
The Permitting Coordinator reports directly to the senior Permitting Coordinator and works closely with Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Team Leaders to coordinate the required permit submittals for projects. The role involves supporting permit research, preparing and submitting applications, acting as the HCE liaison with permitting agencies, and assisting with proposal preparation and additional services.

- Propose quality improvement initiatives to improve production processes and procedures to senior leadership.
- Offer input, ideas, and concerns that will improve the quality of our work to leadership.
- Inform the team leader or project manager of any deviation from the planned scope, schedule, or budget for an assigned task.
- Follow specified project communication procedures.
- Perform research on the required permits needed during the proposal phase.
- Assist team leaders and project managers in the preparation of proposals and add service requests.
- Coordinate pre-submittal meetings between the project team and permitting agencies.
- Complete permit applications, compile required documentation, obtain signatures and permit fees, and submit to permitting agencies.
- Obtain the permitting agency's comments and prepare response letters with input from the project team.
- Track the progress of permits to ensure timely issuance.
- Compile plans and documentation needed for the project's final permit close‑out/certification; submit documentation to the required agencies and track progress, notifying the project team when final certification has been issued.
- Assist with the research of deeds, plats, easements, plans, and other publicly available information on proposed and current projects.
- Graduate of a four‑year bachelor’s degree program in a related field.
- A minimum of four years of permitting experience.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to thrive in a team environment.
- Ability to manage workflow while multitasking.
- Excellent customer service skills required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
