Responsibilities
  • Develop engineering designs and plans for various structures including reinforced concrete bridges, prestressed/post-tensioned concrete bridges, steel plate and box girder bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, sign/signal structures, sound barrier walls, and other transportation related structures.
  • Assist in the creation of engineering documents including Bridge Development Reports, Bridge Load Rating Calculation, and Design-Build Technical Proposals.
  • Participate in and assist with client meetings, marketing pursuits, writing letters of interest, and project presentations.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and other firms on complex interchange projects.
  • Review engineering work produced by other engineers to ensure designs, plans and calculations are complete and accurate.
  • Assist with business development activities including marketing and proposal preparation, as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited four- year college (Masters preferred)
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Florida or have the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • Proficiency in Structural Engineering Software including Leap Bridge, Conspan, RC-Pier, STAAD, MDX, Midas, FB-Multi Pier, MathCAD, and Micro Station.
  • Familiarity with FDOT plans preparation criteria and design standards.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and on large multi‑discipline engineering teams.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to others in the engineering profession.
  • Possess advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Effectively coordinate, perform, and complete multiple duties and assignments concurrently and in a timely manner.
  • Travel to other office locations may be required.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. We are unable to sponsor or take over the sponsorship of employment visas.
