Job Title: Inspector’s Aide – Florida Construction Management division

Job Description: The Inspector’s Aide will conduct on‑site inspections of work in progress, assist the Senior Inspector and Inspector in their duties, and perform assignments under the Senior Inspector’s supervision.

Immigration sponsorship: Not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations.
  • Perform routine tests on concrete, soils and other materials.
  • Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance with plans and codes.
  • Gather and maintain record documents.
  • Make field notes and computations.
Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills
  • Perform mathematical calculations, follow technical instruction, read plans and specifications.
  • Assist and, if needed, escalat[e] issues to higher‑level Inspectors.
  • Successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.
Required Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • FDOT/Turnpike/CFX experience required.
  • Ability to obtain FDOT Intermediate MOT Certification prior to field work and additional certifications before performing independent testing.

Working Conditions: Field work that requires extensive bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Work may be conducted outdoors in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
