GIS Specialist

Arcadis is seeking a GIS Specialist to provide analytical and consulting support for US State Departments of Transportation. Projects focus on cartography and mapping, data management and maintenance, and design and implementation of enterprise Geographic Information Systems (GIS) using Esri-based software to support Esri Roads and Highways, ArcGIS Enterprise platforms, Business Systems Integration, and visualization tools and platforms.

This role sits within the Global Mobility Business Area. We partner with clients worldwide to design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies.

The candidate will maintain line and point event data using advanced linear referencing systems, analyze datasets within an LRS network (centerlines, routes, calibration points), map, cartograph, and visualize GIS datasets with Esri technologies, and maintain data for Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) and Certified Public Mileage (CPM) reports. They will design business processes for Workflow Manager (WMX), develop Data Reviewer checks, and manage GIS data with editing and quality assurance best practices.

Additional responsibilities include using Event Editor (EE) sites on ArcGIS Server, parsing REST service calls to interrogate enterprise database systems, and developing geoprocessing models with Model Builder and Python. The candidate will work with FME to translate geospatial data and will work both independently and collaboratively.

Work location is flexible. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Science.

• Experience with Esri ArcGIS Pro products (including Experience Builder, Field Maps, Portal, Survey
  123).
• Experience with Esri Roads & Highways applications and enterprise database management.
• Knowledge of linear referencing concepts.
• Familiarity with enterprise database environments, including versioning concepts.
• Strong analytical problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for complex reports and presentations.
• Experience with Asset Management software and concepts.
• Advanced analytics and data visualization techniques.
• A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
