Our specialized team provides complete engineering, procurement, and construction new asset and operating asset services in the following areas:

- HVDC/FACTS/STATCOM

In this role you will have the opportunity to:
- Function as a technical Lead substation design engineer for FACTS projects involving (distribution, sub transmission and transmission level voltage classes)
- Utilize resources available for safety and regulatory standards (IEEE, IEC, NEC, NESC, NERC, ISO/RTO) to effectively define project requirements, review project deliverables (physical, P&C, power system design) and collaborate with owner and OEM resources (subject matter experts, internal engineering, and project management).
- Work on other aspects of design that are non‑standard for substation engineers, so the person should be willing to conduct research to locate required white papers, brochures, publications, or standards and bring themselves up to speed.
- Convey technical information to the project team, which may include stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise.
- Lead internal discussions with the owner engineering team to close out technical or project management topics.
Candidates must be located or willing to relocate to any Black & Veatch U.S. Regional Office.
Key Responsibilities- Continues developing knowledge and may provide guidance and direction on design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies. Provides technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines.
- Independently applies knowledge and complies with B&V quality program relative to assigned tasks. May be responsible for ensuring compliance with B&V quality program. Provides related guidance and direction to others. Supports continuous improvement and change management efforts.
- Prepares a variety of engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects. Performs research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
