Harris Technologies Company, is seeking a Lead, Program Engineer at our Orlando, FL location. Coleman Aerospace is a prime tactical and strategic missile target system provider supporting ballistic missile defense testing.
In this role, the candidate will be responsible for leading Engineering tasks that establish and manage design requirements; and will verify product designs meet all operating requirements for fabrication, test, flight, and life cycle disposal environments.
This opening is for an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead responsible for providing technical leadership to a multi-disciplinary team working on subsystem and/or component development, verification, and production tasks.
Essential Functions- Lead a multi-disciplinary Integrated Product Team (IPT) working on subsystem and component development, verification, and production tasks. Coordinate multi-disciplinary team’s work and manage technical progress, risk, schedule, and cost as needed.
- Provide communication of program status to Engineering Management, the Chief Program Engineer, and the Program Manager.
- Utilize organizational skills to effectively coordinate schedules and work flow utilizing the knowledge of operations (manufacturing, engineering, test, etc.) as required to accomplish assigned activities and an understanding of business management systems.
- Provide technical consultation to Program Management and Business Development organizations for business development activities such as writing white papers or preparing and presenting technical briefings to customers.
- Provide technical support on proposals to government customers or prime contractors for engineering development or technology programs.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and minimum 9 years of prior relevant Engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Active Secret Clearance
- Experience managing engineering projects, to include program logic development, planning, systems engineering processes and schedule development/maintenance
- Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management techniques
- Ability to apply Engineering skills to aerospace products in the interest of meeting mission assurance objectives.
- Understanding of design life cycle for design, manufacture, assembly and test principles.
- Experience with Cargo Air Drops from Military Aircraft
