Insomniac - EDC Orlando 2025 Seasonal Entertainment Wardrobe Specialist
Who are you? Do you enjoy dance music and excel at costume or character styles? We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter who embodies a passion for dance culture and the event operations space.
Role overview
Insomniac Events is seeking a highly motivated and proactive Entertainment Wardrobe Specialist to join our Entertainment team. This position reports to the Entertainment Director.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize the wardrobe area for efficiency and speed.
- Assign, document, and recollect wardrobe items of an approved design to entertainers at wardrobe check-in and check-out at events.
- Work closely with performers in the distribution and styling of costume elements, props, footwear, and accessories during show run, rehearsals, preparation, and show changes.
- Fit performers to costume sizing best suited for body shape and size.
- Provide feedback on personal appearances and recommend grooming changes if required.
- Ensure the quality and final product of each look before deployment on event grounds using the 8-point checklist in the wardrobe outline.
- Assist team members with quick changes in setup and run of show.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the lead wardrobe supervisor or director.
- Repair, clean, and prep wardrobe for the run of the show; make alterations or mend wardrobe items when approved.
- Maintain ongoing maintenance of costumes, footwear, props, and related items.
- Maintain a safe working environment by conforming to safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain documentation for maintenance and participate in rotation of duties as directed.
- Proper cleanup, repack, and storage of wardrobe and related items at the end of each show.

- Ability to stand for long periods; ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Qualifications
- Diploma in fashion, textiles, costuming, production arts, or at least 3 years of relevant wardrobe experience.
- Practical skills in hand and machine sewing.
- Ability to style and recreate a look from a photo or description clearly and consistently.
- Hands-on knowledge of repairing costuming, accessories, and footwear.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of live entertainment and Insomniac brands/shows.
- Experience in entertainment, theater, theme park, or live events is a plus.
- Some travel may be required.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and stand for long periods.
Work Environment
- Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels and busy environments.
- Work may occur in drastic temperature climates.
- Willingness to travel to work events during holidays, evenings, and weekend hours as required to meet deadlines.
