Tech IV, Show Operator Opportunities - Universal Epic Universe

Job Summary: Provides the technical skills needed to support the daily operation of the assigned entertainment venue and/or event, including the operation and execution of entertainment shows. Ensures technical show quality and a positive guest experience by applying basic technical knowledge.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the daily operation of the technical elements within the assigned entertainment venue and/or event. Ensure successful operation of basic shows and/or presentations, including completion of pre-/post-show presets and resets.
  • Responsible for the careful execution of show elements/cues to preserve show quality. Maintaining the proper show timing and levels as directed by show direction and venue training.
  • Responsible for completing pre- and post-show presets, resets. Ensures proper completion of all technical documentation, to include daily checklists, FYI, and other such documentation.
  • Assist with the appropriate maintenance and inventory of venue equipment/supplies as assigned for proper operation, organization, and cleanliness.
  • Support and communicate with performers regarding their technical needs. Responds appropriately as needed, bringing any unusual concerns to Technical and/or Venue Management or Tech I.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Technical school is preferred.
  • Associate degree (AA) is preferred.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years’ experience using technical control systems, likely within the theme park/theater industry in a technical capacity preferred.
  • Proven ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Basic knowledge in technical disciplines needed to operate assigned venue.
  • Basic computer skills with basic experience in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
