JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for assisting Costume Fabrication management team in the development and management of Costume Fabrication projects for Marquee Events, Special Events, and Capital Projects by establishing and tracking production and delivery timelines. Keeps venue management and other stakeholders informed of progress throughout the build. Organizes and assists in establishing effective project management practices. Coordinates information and meetings with other disciplines within Art & Design and Entertainment when needed.

The Stage Manager will be the bridge between the fabrication, warehouse and operating teams.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Works closely with Assistant Manager and Fabrication Supervisor(s) to establish and monitor realistic production timelines for Marquee, Special and Capital projects including goods delivery dates, project start date, design/show direction reviews and approval dates, and project delivery dates on assigned projects. Responsible for tracking this information through use of any of the following: shared calendars, spreadsheets, and other project management tools.
  • Coordinates, facilitates, and leads project meetings related to costuming on Marquee, Special and Capital projects to accomplish project deliverables. Liaise with business partners across Entertainment division to ensure all relevant project information is available to the fabrication team and that expectations of partners are met.
  • Responsible for managing the organization of costume presets for all Marquee, Special and Capital projects at fabrication in preparation of fittings and operational install.
  • Provides input on costume construction techniques and equipment in order to increase productivity and meet production timelines.
  • Manages staffing of the Costume Warehouse as well as the organization, inventory, and overall cleanliness of the Costume Warehouse throughout the year. Accountable for assuring that all
  • administrative duties are completed in a timely, accurate manner including but not limited to scheduling, payroll, daily flash, overtime summary and other budgetary functions for the assigned venue(s).
  • Accountable to administer all company policies & procedures as well as handle all employee relations issues pertaining to the assigned venue(s). Provides consistent feedback for both recognition and improvement to team members working in the Costume Warehouse or on relevant projects.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
  • High school degree or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in theater/costume construction or similar field preferred.
  • Project Management training and/or certification a plus.
EXPERIENCE:
  • 2+ years previous supervisory / managerial / project management experience required.
  • 3+ years within the professional entertainment or theme park industry required.
  • 3+ or more years of experience with costume/garment construction preferred.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License preferred.
  • Project Management certification a plus.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • Possesses working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Has experience managing project budgets, especially labor budgets.
  • Has ability to create labor hours estimates and projections.
  • Has working knowledge and experience with costume construction for theme parks, theater, or other live events.
  • Has understanding and expertise in costume construction methods and equipment, including various sewing machines and cutting tools.
