Description
Summary:
The Pricing Manager role is the dedicated pricing leader for their region.
They will be working directly with the Senior Director of Pricing and support HQ incitives and functions.
The Pricing Manager will have 2+ pricing analyst reporting to them. The Pricing Manager is responsible for working directly with the regional management, finance, and sales teams to ensure profitable growth through price execution.
This individual will lead all aspects of the pricing function for the region, from understanding customer value drivers to the development of scalable pricing models and metrics, and the deployment of enterprise tools, governance, and monitoring.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct price change implementation and maintenance
- Evaluate regional customer segments and product tiers to enable targeted price analytics to enhance gross margin
- Quickly learn and master the unique quote/contract structure of the company’s largest suppliers to optimize pricing the products we purchase
- Assess and communicate price change impacts and provide progress and exception reporting
- Master utilization of Pricefx and leverage its capabilities in analytics, process efficiencies, and solution support
- Manage vendor cost changes and proactively recommend price responses to profitize cost changes
- Develops and implements pricing performance indicators and diagnostics to identify pricing opportunities, measure impact of pricing decisions, and track performance of pricing initiatives
- Identify areas of margin leakage and recommend improvement strategies
- Makes decisions, often difficult or unpopular, that support the organization strategy; influences others to support the decisions
- Provides pricing support for business unit initiatives including promotions, slow-move product movement, and business growth attainment
- Lead staff of professionals and provide coaching and development to help grow their careers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, finance, accounting or business
- 5+ years of professional experience in a relevant discipline required
- Experience in B2B distribution pricing with large and diverse SKU counts
- Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to propose actions, identify and illustrate opportunities, make recommendations and articulate financial impact of decisions to personnel at all levels of technical ability and expertise
- Willingness to learn, listen and teach
