Job Summary: Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Commercial Lender to join their team. The Commercial Lender will be responsible for managing the lending process, developing and maintaining relationships with business clients, and ensuring the financial success of both the clients and the organization. This position requires an in-depth understanding of commercial lending products, market trends, and strong customer service skills to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing business clients, acting as the primary point of contact for all lending needs.

Evaluate and analyze the financial stability of business clients by reviewing financial statements, credit reports, and business plans.

Work with clients to understand their financial needs and recommend appropriate commercial lending products such as lines of credit, term loans, equipment financing, and real estate loans.

Structure loan agreements and negotiate terms, ensuring compliance with both internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Manage loan portfolios, monitor payment schedules, and provide timely updates to clients regarding their accounts.

Collaborate with internal teams such as risk management, underwriting, and compliance to ensure efficient and accurate loan processing.

Conduct market research to stay informed of industry trends and competitors' offerings, helping to position the client as a leading financial partner in the commercial sector.

Assist clients with the preparation of loan documentation, including agreements and collateral information.

Participate in business development efforts, identifying and pursuing new lending opportunities within target markets.

Provide expert guidance and consultation to clients, educating them on financial products and lending procedures.

Ensure all loan files and records are accurately maintained, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field (required).

5+ years of experience in commercial lending or a similar financial services role.

Strong understanding of commercial loan products, credit analysis, and business financials.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to assess risk and make sound decisions based on financial data and business forecasts.

Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to commercial lending.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and experience with banking software.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

MBA or related advanced degree.

Professional certifications such as Certified Commercial Lender (CCL) or similar credentials.

Experience with SBA lending or specialized lending products.
