Position OverviewThe Court Program Specialist I in the Family Court Services Department assists with case management services and court support to the judiciary in the Pro Se and Domestic Violence divisions. The role involves preparing Court orders, weekly dockets/calendars, and files for domestic relations hearings, as well as attending judicial proceedings and obtaining pertinent information for all case types.
Responsibilities- Assist with providing case management services and court support in the Pro Se and Domestic Violence divisions.
- Prepare Court orders based upon the ruling in various Domestic Relations cases.
- Create and maintain weekly dockets and calendars for different types of hearings.
- Support the preparation of files for domestic relations hearings and attend judicial hearings.
- Obtain and verify information pertinent to all case types, including criminal backgrounds of all parties.
- Detail-oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Familiarity with Supreme Court Approved forms pertaining to Domestic Relations cases (e.g., injunctions, dissolution of marriage, temporary custody, name change, and paternity cases).
- Customer service training and experience beneficial for face-to-face interactions during the check‑in process for court hearings and phone contact with litigants and other professionals.
Required:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in public or judicial administration, business, education, social work, criminal justice, law (paralegal), or a related social science. Progressively responsible experience may substitute on a year‑for‑year basis for the required college training.
