Professional On Call-Petroleum Restoration Program
Orange County Environmental Protection Division (EPD) is seeking a Professional On‑Call position within the Petroleum Restoration Program (PRP). This temporary role will assist PRP management and professional staff by managing projects, performing technical reviews, clearly communicating findings, and ensuring successful environmental assessment and remediation of petroleum contaminated sites. The position is on call only, not eligible for benefits, and will not exceed 1,200 hours in a fiscal year.

Job DescriptionGeneral Functions:
Manage the assessment and remediation of petroleum contaminated sites, including researching site history, reviewing technical reports, preparing review letters, maintaining databases, interacting with consultants and property owners, and meeting deadlines and quality standards as required by EPD’s contract with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP).
- Perform site management of active petroleum contaminated sites.
- Research site history using available databases and resources.
- Review technical reports and generate approval letters for deliverable items pursuant to Chapter 62‑780 & 62‑777 of the Florida Administrative Code, standard operating procedures and associated guidance documents.
- Ensure all documents consistent with program requirements.
- Attend FDEP training, teleconferences, conferences, and other continuing education.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with a Bachelor's Degree and major coursework in environmental or civil engineering, geology, natural sciences or a related field.
Preferences- Experience managing projects related to contamination cleanup.
- Experience using databases and Microsoft Office suite.
- Familiarity with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Petroleum Restoration Program.
