Job Summary

Provides medical physics services at or above the State of Florida and Federal requirements as well as meets any national standards to ensure quality of care to patients and a safe work environment for staff. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful of all.

You Will Be Responsible For

  • Actively participates in the radiation safety program. This includes involvement with ALARA program, I-131 clinical radiotherapy program, clinical audit program, shielding design and survey, patient and personnel dosimetry calculations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Actively participates in and oversees developing new programs and technologies as directed by the Chief Diagnostic Physicist/Radiation Safety Officer. This also includes quality improvement initiatives.
  • Performs/oversees physics testing of all imaging equipment throughout the facility and reports findings in an appropriate and timely manner as directed by the Chief Diagnostic Physicist/Radiation Safety Officer.
  • Provides medical physics consultation/education to physicians, staff and patients as needed.
  • Participates in and oversees the quality assurance programs of departments served as needed, from supervision up to performing the tests.
Qualifications

What Will You Need:

Education And Experience Required

  • Minimum of five years of clinical experience in the practice of medical physics
Licensure, Certification Or Registration Required

  • Current active State of Florida licensure in Diagnostic Radiological Physics or Medical Health Physics
  • Current certification by the American Board of Radiology or the American Board of Medical Physics in an appropriate subspecialty (diagnostic radiological physics, medical health physics or nuclear medical physics)
