Radiation Therapist
The UF Health Proton Therapy Institute (UFHPTI), located in Jacksonville, Florida, is excited to announce an opening for a Radiation Therapist. This position plays a key role in providing high-quality care to patients with cancer by performing treatment planning simulations and administering prescribed courses of ionizing radiation.
As a Radiation Therapist, you will be responsible for accurately delivering radiation therapy utilizing proton and photon technologies as well as performing simulations with CT and MRI technologies. Our radiation therapists participate in Quality Assurance Programs and assist in the billing process for each patient’s treatment. Your commitment to safety for both patients and personnel will be vital, as will your ability to adapt to fluctuating work schedules due to patient volumes.
Key
Qualifications:
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- 1-3 years of experience in radiation therapy (treatment delivery and simulation) is preferred.
- Manual dexterity and fine motor skills, with the ability to lift 30–50 pounds.
- Graduation from a program accredited by the Council on Allied Health Education and Accreditation for Radiation Therapy Technology.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Radiation Therapy Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment).
- State of Florida for Radiation Therapy Technology or eligible.
- BCLS certification within 6 months of employment, with continual maintenance.
