Overview

Join the Pharmacy Manager/Pharmacist team at True Health in Orlando. This is a full-time, exempt role based at multiple centers in the Orlando area. This position reports to the Director of Pharmacy and oversees the pharmacy department operations, staff supervision, and coordination with providers and clinical support staff.

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for the smooth and successful operation of the pharmacy department and the maintenance of all business-related functions at the Center. Duties include compounding and dispensing prescribed medications, supervising Assistant Pharmacy Managers, Staff Pharmacists, Pharmacy Services Representatives, Pharmacy Technicians, and Pharmacy Support Specialists, and ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. This is NOT a remote position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a transparent, effective relationship with the Director of Pharmacy and Chief Pharmacy Officer; support Board-approved policies and report on the Center’s financial condition.
  • Foster an environment aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Manage all operations of the pharmacy department, dispense and verify prescriptions, and ensure adherence to medication guidelines and policies for receiving, filling, logging, loss prevention, and prevention of diversion (including controlled substances).
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations (e.g., 340B, HIPAA, SOP, QA, CQI) in all prescription-related issues.
  • Review prescriptions issued by physicians or prescribers for accuracy and appropriateness; determine formulas and ingredients as needed.
  • Compound medications when applicable, using standard formulas and processes.
  • Provide counseling on prescription and over-the-counter medications as required by policy and law.
  • Utilize patient medical records to perform chart reviews and reconcile drug therapy; manage controlled substance policies and procedures.
  • Address third-party discrepancies, assist with front-desk operations, and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including staff pharmacists and technicians; collaborate with providers and clinical staff to optimize drug therapy and address barriers to adherence.
  • Stay current with new drug therapies, participate in MTM-related activities, and review MTM and quality reports (e.g., HEDIS/STAR).
  • Engage patients in customer service programs and program integrations; promote cost-effective therapy, and communicate savings opportunities to providers and staff.
  • Maintain inventory controls, storage, and proper handling of all pharmaceuticals; lead efforts to ensure accuracy of data entry and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with inspections, licensing, certifications, and regulatory requirements; maintain a culture of high-quality patient care and cost containment.
  • Provide leadership in staff development, participate in meetings, and contribute to projects to support business needs.
  • Travel to True Health locations as required and support off-hours coverage, including on-call duties and emergency procedures.
  • Support emergency preparedness, incident reporting, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm

    D) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required.
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years’ licensed pharmacist experience in a retail environment; MTM experience preferred (minimum three (3) years); FQHC and 340B experience preferred.
