Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU APRN or PA-C – Advent Health for Children – Orlando, FL – Full-Time
Overview
Responsibilities- Perform admissions, consultations, and follow‑up care of pediatric patients in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU, including intubation, ventilator management, and other necessary procedures.
- Manage medical and post‑operative ICU patients, including orders and interpretation of diagnostic tests (laboratory, X‑ray, etc.).
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, surgical procedures, and pre‑ and post‑operative care.
- Monitor patient course and make appropriate referrals to physicians or specialists as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians and staff to provide consistent care and support to staff.
- Pass a third‑party background check and pre‑employment drug screen. Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies (MSN preferred).
- 1‑3 years of experience as a Pediatric APRN or PA‑C in an ICU, acute care, or ER setting.
- Cardiac ICU experience as an APRN or PA‑C (Highly Preferred).
- Experience with ECMO (Highly Preferred).
- Current, valid Florida APRN license (or eligibility to obtain FL licensure).
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certification.
- Certifications by Certification Board (PNCB) are highly preferred.
- Flexible schedule: 12‑hour shifts, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to perform procedures: lines, intubations, etc. (highly preferred).
Advent Health for Children is a tertiary children’s hospital with 200 dedicated pediatric beds, 30 pediatric ICU beds, a dedicated pediatric CICU, a 102‑bed NICU, 17‑bed pediatric emergency department, and a statewide pediatric network and transport system.
