Certified Lab Phlebotomist, Part‑Time Days
South Lake Hospital – Clermont, FL
Part‑time, days shift. Role in Laboratory department at South Lake Hospital.

- Perform laboratory specimen collection and phlebotomy procedure; at least 80% of productive time.
- Peripheral IV insertion.
- Provide support with patient registration and third‑party reimbursement processes.
- Demonstrate knowledge of specimen collection and handling requirements.
- Know hospital and laboratory information systems, specimen processing, billing, reference testing, and scheduling.
- Maintain appropriate supplies and a clean, organized work area.
- Maintain positive customer‑service relationships and respond to customer service issues.
- Train staff as required.
- Work flexible hours to meet department needs.
- Coordinate, organize, and perform outreach phlebotomy services.
- Coordinate laboratory specimen collection for inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Act as liaison between laboratory, physicians, nursing personnel, ancillary departments, clients, and vendors.
- Follow established policies and procedures to meet regulatory and accrediting agency requirements.
- Maintain punctual attendance and compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient records and departmental matters.
- Maximize productivity, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
- May perform bedside testing such as glucose.
- Maintain an active role in the laboratory Quality Improvement Program.
- Document specimen quality issues.
- Adhere to infection control and safety practices.

- High school graduate or equivalent.
- CPR certification.
- Phlebotomy certification from ASCP, NPA, ASPT or equivalent program requiring a minimum of 100 patient collections and continuing education.
- 2–3 years of experience as a lab phlebotomist, preferred.
