Position GoalAssist physicians and other staff members with care of patients in producing high quality radiographs.
Position Responsibilities- Must have a command of radiographic technique.
- Must have command of medical imaging system and be able to assist other staff members as needed.
- Responsible for understanding and carrying out radiology requisitions and views.
- Memorize what views each physician requires on exams.
- Assist patients in getting into the positions required to get the radiographs needed with the occasional need to lift the patient.
- Take X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
- Stock necessary supplies.
- Use a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
- Assist with and provides direct training and supervision to student technologists.
- Ensure equipment is in working order. Report any malfunction to supervisor in a timely manner.
- Carry out radiology requisitions and views. Use radiographic technique, medical imaging system, and assist other staff members as needed.
- Operate all portables and C-Arm equipment (if applicable).
- Provide back up support to Medical Assistants, which includes rooming patients, transcribing, entering tests and procedures, EMR documentation, reviewing initial vital signs, assisting with minor procedures (e.g. suture/staple removal), assisting with DME placement/removal, and ensuring all equipment and exam rooms are sterilized and clean/stocked (if applicable).

- None.
- Previous orthopaedic experience.
- Graduate of an accredited two-year radiologic technology program or equivalent military training.
- Completion of coursework required for appropriate state licensure and certification(s) (if applicable).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Knowledge of radiographic technique and medical imaging system(s).
- Vast knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy.
- Ability to work independently and have working knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
- Valid Driver’s License, satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR) and proof of insurance required for position on-boarding.
- Annual MVR may be required per policy and procedure; background reports may be ran as needed throughout the course of employment.
