Clinical Quality Specialist I

Position Summary:

The clinical quality specialist serves as a member of the quality team coordinating and supporting quality activities and projects.

Responsibilities
  • Supports quality and safety activities and projects assigned by the Chief Quality Officer.
  • Facilitates progress toward board quality goals by developing strategies, improvement plans, and presentations.
  • Collaborates with leadership, clinical leaders, and staff to plan and support a robust quality and safety program.
  • Works with risk management, infection prevention, regulatory, data analytics, education, and operational effectiveness to achieve improved outcomes.
  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with physicians, nurses, allied leaders, and team members.
  • Participates in or leads interdisciplinary teams related to quality and patient safety.
  • Identifies process and practice improvement opportunities in the practice environment.
  • Supports the development of appropriate policies and procedures related to quality and patient safety.
  • Participates in planning and implementation of new technologies and procedures that support or enhance quality and patient safety.
  • Provides education and training related to quality and patient safety.
  • Produces reports to identify areas of improvement and document progress of improvement activities.
  • Observes daily operations to identify potential areas for process improvement or patient safety enhancements.
  • Demonstrates initiative, situational leadership skills, and embraces effective change.
  • Maintains proficiency with data platforms used by Orlando Health.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    Must hold one of the following – Registered FL Nurse, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy with the Florida Department of Health, or a degree in health administration.
  • Experience:

    Three (3) years’ experience in a healthcare setting.
