The Group Leader assists the Food Service Supervisor and/or Manager with oversight of the daily operations of patient and non-patient services, including daily operational activities of the department, assuring that all quality and standards are met.
Responsibilities Essential Functions- Schedules and trains staff, reports cash transactions, prepares cash deposits, compiles patient menus and special needs, setup and checking of patient tray line and opening and closing of the department.
- Prepares breakfast, lunch and dinner, directs catering and doctor’s lounge service.
- Communicates proper information regarding any patient or non-patient needs to peers, staff and Food Service Supervisor or Manager.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Participates in monthly department QA/QI and all related in-services.
- Aids Food Service Supervisor or Manager in development of in-services to improve quality in designated areas.
- Ensures that proper portion controls, tray delivery standards, café service standards are followed by staff.
- Aware of Food Borne Illness prevention and sanitation requirements and assures compliance within department.
- Follows all universal precautions as they apply to food services.
High School graduate or equivalent required.
Licensure/CertificationNone.
ExperienceThree (3) years previous food service experience.
